Rediffmail Problem - Trick to Auto Forward your mails for free

Rediffmail Problem - Trick to Auto Forward your mails for free

Hello everyone. My name is Nihit Dalmia. I want to thank you for visiting my blog & hope I can be of some useful service to you.

The title of my post is self-explanatory in itself. I was using Rediffmail for a long time. Many of my friends & colleagues told me to shift to gmail but how could I do that... I was a loyal rediff user.

But, times have changed... The service of rediffmail have been extremely poor for last 45 days. It is impossible to open most of the mails from sent folder. Also, they have been changing with their new & old interface for a quite a long time which is nothing but a menace...

Due to loss of my business due to prolonged periods of worst email service, I had no option but to shift finally to gmail (google mail provider). After shifting, I have realized what I had missed for couple of years, its really amazing!!! More on gmail benefits v/s Rediffmail (below)...

Let's come back to Rediffmail trick to Auto Forward your mails for free to gmail:

If you want to forward all your emails from your Rediffmail account to any other email account, simply follow the steps below:

  • Go to the classic version of your Rediffmail account. This is important else you will get an error “You have not specified any email address to which you would like your emails forwarded “ You can do this from the new version by clicking "Back to Classic" on the top right corner of the webpage.
  • The browser location will look like http://f1mail.rediff.com/prism/maillist". Replace maillist with forwardyourmails?action=forwardmails&email=YOUR_EMAIL_ADDRESS&leavecopy=1
  • Enter the email ID that you want to forward your Rediffmail email to and you are done!

Remember that it takes 5-10 minutes to start processing auto forwarding new mails which arrive to rediffmail's inbox.

Now let's discuss why Gmail instead of Rediffmail

Following features have compelled a user to change his email:
    • Search Feature - Doesn't work most of the time (Gmail - Best Search available in entire planet)
    • POP3/IMAP service available at a high cost (Gmail - POP3 service is free)
    • Loading time is enormous (Gmail - Once you load the interface - it works flawlessly like iPhone touch)
    • Business Mail is very costly (Gmail provides Business Aps including mail in @yourname.com for 10 user accounts for free)
    • Control Panel i.e. Settings is very limited (Gmail - Extensive Control panel or Settings which user can't possibly imagine)

    1. Great Post!!! Working. I didn't know what I would have done without this trick. Rediff is seriously degrading their services.

    8. Forwarding is not working in rediffmail - even after applying the trick! Any idea why? I am trying this on 27th May 2013.. Has rediff closed the loophole?
